About The Position

Custodians provide a clean, safe, high-quality facility that supports an enhanced learning environment and IDEA’s commitment to excellence. The role includes completing daily cleaning responsibilities, carrying out assigned work orders, maintaining custodial supplies and equipment, and helping identify facility needs. Custodians are expected to work safely, reliably, and flexibly in support of the campus mission.

Requirements

Ability to understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures.
Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance.
Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment.
Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies.

Responsibilities

Provide a clean and healthy environment that supports an enhanced learning environment.
Achieve a proficient rating on the Facilities Rubric and Facilities Audit.
Complete assigned work orders, with a goal of completing 90% of campus projects within 48 hours.
Complete daily cleaning responsibilities and pay close attention to detail.
Work with the Facilities Manager to identify facility needs for capital expenditures planning.
Complete SafeSchools training by the deadline and operate safely.
Use personal protective equipment 100% of the time, keep all chemicals locked, and promptly report unsafe campus conditions.
Manage custodial supplies and equipment efficiently, minimize material consumption, and meet campus cost-per-square-foot allocations and kWh usage targets.
Maintain an accurate inventory log and order supplies through the Facilities Manager within campus guidelines.
Properly use and maintain heavy equipment.
Demonstrate reliability through attendance, punctuality, and flexibility; follow the work schedule and work longer hours as needed to meet mission goals.
Prioritize work and use good judgment.

Hourly compensation ranging from $14.86 to $18.21, based on experience.
