About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment within the fitness club. This role involves detailed cleaning of various areas, including restrooms, locker rooms, windows, and floors. The Custodian will also assist with front desk operations as needed and ensure inventory of cleaning supplies is managed. Excellent communication and member service skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Must demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality skills.
Great communication skills with internal and external customers.
Must be team oriented, motivated, and well organized.
Ability to think critically and evaluate solutions to problems proactively.

Nice To Haves

Custodial experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms, locker room areas, shower rooms, stall walls and doors, and all waste areas.
Inspect and clean all windows and window frames, both interior and exterior.
Detail clean all baseboards, wall trim, walls, and handrails throughout the facility, ensuring surfaces are free of handprints, scuff marks, and dust.
Dust and clean all air vents, TVs, signage, storage or glass doors, and light fixtures.
Assist in front desk operations as needed, including use of Point of Sale.
Follow cleaning lists and other assigned tasks.
Remove trash from all waste areas or push down trash.
Clean all rubber or tile flooring throughout the gym floor, including auxiliary rooms and under gym equipment using a vacuum, floor scrubber, and mop.
Use and operate floor scrubber and vacuum cleaner.
Communicate with members and create a high level of member service.
Ensure all storage rooms remain clean and organized with products properly arranged on shelving racks.
Discard all loose boxes and trash.
Notify club management if inventory for cleaning supplies is low and needs replenishment.
