About The Position
Custodians at IDEA Robindale provide a clean, safe, high-quality facility that supports an enhanced learning environment and IDEA’s commitment to excellence. The role includes daily cleaning, facilities upkeep, minor repairs, safe handling of chemicals and equipment, management of supplies and inventory, and timely completion of assigned work orders. Custodians work with the Facilities Manager on facilities needs and capital expenditure planning, follow the assigned schedule, and demonstrate reliability, flexibility, and a team-oriented approach. The position may require working longer hours as needed to meet the mission goal. IDEA Public Schools is a multi-state network of tuition-free Pre-K–12 public charter schools. Requirements
- Ability to understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures.
- Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment.
- Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies.
Responsibilities
- Provide a clean and healthy environment that supports an enhanced learning environment.
- Achieve a proficient rating on the Facilities Rubric and Facilities Audit.
- Complete assigned work orders, with a goal of completing 90% of campus projects within 48 hours.
- Complete daily cleaning responsibilities with attention to detail.
- Work with the Facilities Manager to identify facilities needs for capital expenditure planning.
- Operate safely, complete SafeSchools training by the deadline, and use personal protective equipment at all times.
- Keep all chemicals on hand locked and immediately report unsafe situations on campus.
- Manage custodial supplies and equipment efficiently, minimize material consumption, and work within campus cost and usage allocations.
- Maintain an accurate inventory log and order supplies from the Facilities Manager within campus guidelines.
- Properly use and maintain heavy equipment.
- Demonstrate reliability and responsibility through attendance, punctuality, and flexibility.
- Follow the work schedule, prioritize tasks, and use good judgment to work efficiently.
- Work longer hours when needed to meet the mission goal.
