About The Position

The Curbside Shopper Lead provides direction for department operations, processes, and conditions, and plans, guides, and empowers team members in day-to-day work. The role models exceptional customer experiences, supports department goals, and influences peers to maintain a successful team strategy. The Lead may also serve in a lead capacity in other store departments and perform other assigned or required duties.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Engage peers to provide customers with the best possible shopping experience, including an exceptional checkout experience.
Communicate with team members and assign daily work tasks.
Mentor and coach team members to help exceed customer service and sales goals, maintain Meijer standards, and complete required training.
Support training new team members and cross-training high-potential talent; provide peer coaching on job responsibilities and standards to improve productivity.
Work with leadership on department scheduling to support team member engagement, customer service, store sales, and profitability.
Monitor the execution of product rotation and dating policies to ensure product freshness.
Guide the team in complying with food safety standards and regulations and working safely in accordance with 200% accountability.
Lead team members in completing ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and product display, where applicable.
Help create an environment that supports Meijer culture, including valuing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Operate a register and handle cash when needed.
Operate powered equipment, where applicable.
Participate in period-end inventories, where applicable, to help achieve goals.
Act in a Lead capacity in other store departments when required.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
