About The Position

The Credit Manager is responsible for evaluating customer creditworthiness, managing collections activities, monitoring accounts receivable, and supporting cash application and claims processes. This role helps minimize credit risk, improve cash flow, and maintain positive customer relationships while ensuring compliance with company credit policies. The Credit Manager works closely with Sales, Operations, Shipping, and Management to resolve customer account issues and support business objectives.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial credit, collections, accounts receivable, or a related field.
  • Strong financial statement analysis and credit evaluation skills.
  • Excellent collection, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Credit management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems preferred.
  • Food, meat, manufacturing, distribution, or agricultural industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate new and existing customer creditworthiness and establish appropriate credit limits and payment terms.
  • Review financial statements, credit reports, payment history, and trade references.
  • Manage collections and monitor accounts receivable aging and DSO.
  • Make recommendations regarding credit holds, credit limits, and payment arrangements.
  • Oversee cash applications, unapplied cash, customer deductions, and claims.
  • Maintain accurate customer credit files and account information.
  • Work closely with Sales, Operations, Shipping, and Management to resolve customer account issues.
  • Monitor credit exposure and identify potential credit risks.
  • Prepare credit and accounts receivable reports for Management.
  • Assist with improving credit department processes, procedures, reporting, and systems.
