About The Position
Brock University is seeking a Course Coordinator for BIOL 1P91 for the Fall D2 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. The Course Coordinator will be paid according to their qualifications, with rates effective September 1, 2026: $23.30 per hour for those without a 4-year honours degree or 3-year pass degree, and $36.67 per hour for those with such a degree. The role involves overseeing seminar/tutorial/lab sections, coordinating Teaching Assistants, assisting with marking schemes, and coordinating the marking of assignments and exams.
Requirements
- Broad experience in Biological Sciences
- Previous experience in demonstrating laboratories
- Previous experience supervising other demonstrators
- A Biological Science degree
- Leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to assign duties to demonstrators
- Ability to troubleshoot in the laboratory setting
- Ability to detect potential hazards
- Ability and skills to rapidly and appropriately deal with problems as they occur
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the seminar/tutorial/lab sections for a particular course
- Coordinating Teaching Assistants/Lab Demonstrators/Marker-Graders and holding meetings with them
- Assisting in the preparation of marking schemes
- Coordinating the marking of course assignments and/or midterm, progress and final exams
- Any other related duties as may be required by the course instructor
