About The Position
Brock University is seeking a Course Coordinator for BIOL 1P93 Fall D2-2. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 employee group. The role involves overseeing seminar/tutorial/lab sections, coordinating Teaching Assistants/Lab Demonstrators/Marker-Graders, assisting with marking schemes, and coordinating the marking of assignments and exams. The position reports to the Department Chair or Course Instructor and operates under Article 22 of the Collective Agreement.
Requirements
- Broad experience in Biological Sciences
- Previous experience in demonstrating laboratories
- Previous experience in supervising other demonstrators
- Labster Experience
- A Biological Sciences degree
- Leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to assign duties to demonstrators
- Ability to troubleshoot in the laboratory setting
- Ability to detect potential hazards
- Ability and skills to rapidly and appropriately deal with problems as they occur
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the seminar/tutorial/lab sections for a particular course
- Coordinating Teaching Assistants/Lab Demonstrators/Marker-Graders and holding meetings with them
- Assisting in the preparation of marking schemes
- Coordinating the marking of course assignments and/or midterm, progress and final exams
- Performing any other related duties as may be required by the course instructor
