About The Position
Brock University is seeking a Course Coordinator for the BIOL 1P91 Fall D2 course. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. The Course Coordinator will report to the Department Chair or Course Instructor and will be responsible for overseeing seminar, tutorial, and lab sections for the course. This includes coordinating Teaching Assistants, Lab Demonstrators, and Marker-Graders, assisting in the preparation of marking schemes, and coordinating the marking of course assignments and exams. The role also involves any other related duties as required by the course instructor.
Requirements
- Broad experience in Biological Sciences
- Previous experience in demonstrating laboratories
- Previous experience in supervising other demonstrators
- A Biological Science degree
- Leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to assign duties to demonstrators
- Ability to troubleshoot in the laboratory setting
- Ability to detect potential hazards
- Ability and skills to rapidly and appropriately deal with problems as they occur
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the seminar/tutorial/lab sections for a particular course
- Coordinating Teaching Assistants/Lab Demonstrators/Marker-Graders and holding meetings with them
- Assisting in the preparation of marking schemes
- Coordinating the marking of course assignments and/or midterm, progress and final exams
- Performing any other related duties as may be required by the course instructor
