About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for the MUSI 2P12 Guitar Fundamentals – Fall/Winter (D1) course. The role involves individual instruction in guitar chord shapes, and strumming and picking patterns, for music therapy, music education or performance accompaniment. This includes private instruction, 0.5 hours per week for two terms, and attendance at public performances as an audience member, 1 hour per week for two terms (15 hours total).

Requirements

• Master’s degree in guitar performance and/or pedagogy, or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated teaching experience and competence in guitar pedagogy at the university level.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proven track record of working effectively with deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the seminar/tutorial/lab sections for a particular course.
• Coordinating Teaching Assistants/Lab Demonstrators/Marker-Graders and holding meetings with them.
• Assisting in the preparation of marking schemes and coordinating the marking of course assignments and/or midterm, progress and final exams.
• Any other related duties as may be required by the course instructor.
