About The Position
Operates company vehicles and provides courteous and efficient delivery and pickup of packages. Checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service, provides coverage for all assigned routes within the station’s service area, and performs related customer service functions. Performs other duties as assigned. The position requires customer contact and a neat appearance. The employee must meet and maintain qualifications outlined in federal motor carrier safety regulations and pass a medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations. A valid driver’s license appropriate for the assigned vehicle and a good driving record are required, as outlined in company policy. This is a non-covered safety-sensitive position requiring constant alertness and safe work practices. Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, 7:00 AM–12:00 PM. Pay is $26.76–$40.62 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Able to lift 50 pounds and maneuver packages weighing more than 50 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.
- Good human relations and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated adaptability, dependability, and excellent courier methods.
- Able to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.
- Meet and maintain qualifications outlined in federal motor carrier safety regulations.
- Pass a medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations.
- Obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license appropriate for the assigned vehicle under state requirements, and maintain a good driving record as outlined in company policy.
- Maintain a neat appearance and remain alert and work safely.
Nice To Haves
- Six months of courier experience preferred.
- Ability to demonstrate area knowledge.
- Thorough knowledge of the station’s service area preferred.
