About The Position

Operates company vehicles and provides courteous and efficient delivery and pickup of packages, checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service, and provides coverage for all assigned routes within the station's service area. Provides related customer service functions and performs other duties as assigned.

This is a full-time swing position with a variable shift. The role requires customer contact, a neat appearance, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. The employee must meet and maintain qualifications outlined in federal motor carrier safety regulations and complete a medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations. A valid driver's license appropriate for the assigned vehicle and a good driving record are required and must be maintained.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and maneuver packages weighing more than 50 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.
• Good human relations and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated adaptability, dependability, and excellent courier methods.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.
• Must meet and maintain qualifications outlined in federal motor carrier safety regulations.
• Must complete a medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license in accordance with state requirements for the assigned vehicle type and have a good driving record as outlined in policy.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
• Neat appearance, as customer contact is required.

Nice To Haves

• Six months of courier experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of the station's service area preferred.
• Ability to demonstrate area knowledge.
