About The Position
Labcorp is seeking a Courier to join its team in Bakersfield, California. The position is responsible for picking up, transporting, and delivering medical specimens, laboratory supplies, and reports while providing excellent service to clients. The courier covers routes in Bakersfield and surrounding Kern County areas. A company vehicle is provided for the route; employees may take it home and use it for personal purposes for $125 per month.
Requirements
- No experience or education is required.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Punctuality and strong time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to resolve customer issues.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Comfort working with minimal supervision.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six months or more of experience as a driver or medical courier.
- Six months or more of customer service experience.
Responsibilities
- Cover various routes within the City of Bakersfield and surrounding Kern County areas.
- Load supplies needed for daily pickups.
- Complete the daily pickup schedule in a timely manner.
- Deliver daily pickups to the branch at the end of the shift.
- Handle specimens and laboratory samples safely and efficiently.
- Safely operate a company vehicle and obey traffic laws.
- Use a handheld electronic device to manage daily pickups.
- Work with the dispatcher to handle additional pickups as needed.
- Evaluate traffic patterns, alternative routes, and weather conditions as needed.
- Pick up, transport, and deliver medical specimens, laboratory supplies, and reports while providing excellent client service.
