About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Courier to join its team in Birmingham, Alabama. The Courier is responsible for picking up, transporting, and delivering medical specimens, laboratory supplies, and reports while providing excellent service to clients. The role includes a company vehicle for the route; for $125 per month, the employee may take the vehicle home and use it for personal use.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. No education or experience is required. Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of driver or courier experience, and at least one year of customer service experience.

Candidates should be punctual, organized, detail-oriented, and able to resolve customer issues. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, a valid driver’s license and clean driving record, and being at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Load all necessary supplies for daily pickups.
• Complete the daily pickup schedule in a timely manner.
• Deliver all daily pickups to the branch at the end of the shift.
• Handle specimens and laboratory samples safely and efficiently.
• Safely operate a company vehicle and obey traffic laws.
• Use a handheld electronic device to manage daily pickups.
• Work with the dispatcher to handle additional pickups as needed.
• Evaluate traffic patterns, alternate routes, and weather conditions as needed.
• Pick up, transport, and deliver medical specimens, laboratory supplies, and reports while providing excellent client service.
