Counter Sales Associate
About The Position
VP Supply Corp is a distributor of plumbing, HVAC, and electrical supplies with more than 350 employees and 15 locations across Western New York and Pennsylvania. The company serves residential customers, contractors, and municipalities across a variety of industries. It is hiring a Counter Sales Associate for its Dansville branch. The position serves walk-in and call-in customers, provides product guidance and sales support, and assists with warehouse and delivery-related tasks. The role calls for a motivated, customer-focused team player who can work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of parts sales experience, preferably in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical fields.
- Warehouse or stocking experience; forklift and pallet jack experience is preferred.
- Previous experience handling walk-in and call-in customer orders.
- Demonstrated superior customer service skills.
- Strong computer skills, including high proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Reliable daily transportation to the branch location.
- Valid New York State driver's license in good standing.
Nice To Haves
- Forklift and pallet jack experience.
- Parts sales experience in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical fields.
Responsibilities
- Meet and greet customers at the point of sale with service, respect, and product knowledge.
- Consult with customers about current and future needs to determine appropriate service and sales solutions.
- Pick warehouse materials to fill orders.
- Assist with customer deliveries as needed.
- Assist with stocking warehouse materials and loading and unloading vehicles.
- Use company-provided systems to improve planning and collect customer history.
- Maintain a neat counter area and product displays.
- Review the open order report weekly.
- Build and maintain customer relationships.
- Demonstrate company product knowledge and explain the company's competitive advantage to customers.
- Stay up to date on the market, customers, suppliers, and competitors.
- Learn and demonstrate competence in the features and functionality of all product lines.
- Perform occasional order picking and miscellaneous warehouse duties as needed.
