About The Position

The Counter Sales Associate drives sales and customer satisfaction by assisting walk-in and telephone customers with product selection and order fulfillment. The role uses technical knowledge to address customer needs and build lasting relationships. This is a full-time branch position in Middletown, Delaware, with a day shift and an hourly pay range of $17.50–$26.50. It reports to the Branch Manager. Benefits are available beginning the first of the month following 45 days of employment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours daily.
• Ability to stoop, bend, and reach inventory.
• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments.

• Product, applications, or wholesale distribution experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pull, fill, pack, and set up orders for delivery or pickup, and track order status.
• Receive shipments, log them into inventory, conduct audits, and process returns accurately.
• Assist counter and telephone customers with orders, product information, pricing, and availability.
• Greet customers professionally and resolve issues promptly or escalate them as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized counter and product display area.
• Upsell complementary products and convert requests to stocked brands where appropriate.
• Maintain product and industry knowledge and follow company pricing and credit guidelines.
• Assess customer needs to determine the appropriate service level or escalation path.
• Build customer relationships and adapt interactions to different customer types and needs.
• Collaborate with the team, share best practices, and support a positive work environment.
• Follow company procedures, policies, and Employee Handbook requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
