About The Position

Concorde Education partners with schools and community organizations to provide enrichment programs introducing students to new skills, interests, and potential career pathways. The company is seeking independent professionals with cosmetology, beauty, hairstyling, makeup, nail technology, barbering, esthetics, fashion, or related experience for K–12 enrichment instructional assignments. Students may be in elementary, middle, or high school, depending on the school partnership and program. This posting identifies qualified independent professionals who may be considered for future assignments. Contractors may apply for opportunities that interest them and may accept or decline any assignment. Assignments vary in availability, schedule, duration, location, scope, and compensation, and no minimum number of assignments, hours, or future opportunities is guaranteed. Many assignments run approximately 8–10 weeks and typically involve 1–4 instructional hours per week, primarily after school. Opportunities are in person at partner schools and community locations, with locations varying by assignment. Start dates are rolling based on school partner schedules. Depending on the assignment, instructors may lead engaging, age-appropriate sessions; introduce students to cosmetology skills and career pathways; demonstrate relevant techniques; create hands-on activities; and encourage creativity, confidence, professionalism, and positive self-expression. Instructors adapt activities to materials, classroom resources, program objectives, and site requirements, maintain safe and inclusive practices, communicate significant assignment-related needs or concerns when appropriate, and complete a brief session-completion form after scheduled sessions. Programs may cover hairstyling, braiding, nail care and art, makeup, color theory, beauty design, cosmetology careers, hygiene and sanitation, professionalism, customer service, entrepreneurship, personal branding, and portfolio projects. Curriculum, projects, demonstrations, materials, and objectives vary by assignment. Schools or Concorde Education may provide resources such as curriculum materials, lesson suggestions, classroom supplies, mannequin heads, practice supplies, or presentation materials. Contractors may adapt activities within the assignment scope and site requirements and may use their own appropriate resources. Expenses requested for reimbursement require written approval before they are incurred. Compensation is set separately for each assignment. Many opportunities start at $50 or more per completed instructional hour with students; the stated salary range is $50–$100 per hour. Rates depend on assignment scope, qualifications and experience, location, schedule, and program needs. Applicants may propose a rate, but Concorde Education may accept it, counteroffer, or select another applicant. Unless agreed otherwise in writing, compensation is based on completed instructional hours with students. Payment is generally made by direct deposit on the fifteenth day of the month following the month services were completed, subject to assignment terms and applicable law. These are independent contractor opportunities, not employee positions. Selected applicants may be invited to create a contractor profile and complete onboarding or assignment-specific requirements. Before services begin, an assignment may require agreed compensation, onboarding, background-check procedures, site clearances, fingerprinting, documentation, identification, or other legally required compliance steps. Concorde Education considers qualified applicants with criminal histories consistent with applicable New York State and New York City Fair Chance laws. The company considers qualified contractor applicants without regard to statuses protected by applicable law and is committed to respectful, inclusive, student-centered programming.
