About The Position

The Corporate Security Manager leads and strengthens Air Methods’ enterprise physical security program, developing security strategies, standards, and risk-based solutions across a geographically diverse operation. The role oversees security technology and vendor partnerships, advises leadership on physical security and threat management, and promotes a consistent approach to protecting employees, facilities, aircraft, and critical assets. It is a strategic, program-focused leadership position, not a security officer or executive protection role. Approximately 20–30% of the position supports Emergency Management, including preparedness planning, exercises, incident response, and Emergency Operations Center activities. The position is onsite at Air Methods’ corporate headquarters in Greenwood Village, Colorado, and involves approximately 20% travel, with additional travel as required. The role currently has no supervisory responsibilities. The annual salary range is $80,000–$95,000, based on experience and qualifications. The position also supports applicable aviation and security compliance requirements, including Department of War Commercial Airlift Review Board security expectations, and participates in emergency planning, response, and recovery activities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) from a four-year college or university in Security Management, Emergency Management, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Aviation Safety, or a related field, and five or more years of relevant experience managing enterprise or multi-site physical security programs; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience conducting facility security assessments and overseeing physical security technologies such as access control and video surveillance systems.
Experience managing contracted security services and vendors.
Strong critical-thinking and analytical skills, including the ability to assess risk, prioritize competing demands, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly to executive and operational audiences.

FEMA/NIMS Incident Command System courses ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800 required.
CPR/AED/First Aid certification required.

Responsibilities

Establish, implement, and manage the enterprise physical security program, including consistent standards, governance, and accountability across facilities.
Serve as the corporate subject matter expert on physical security guidelines, manuals, policies, procedures, and standards.
Conduct and maintain a National Facility Security Baseline Assessment covering company facilities, documenting existing controls, risk levels, and prioritized recommendations.
Develop and manage a tiered facility security classification system to guide minimum controls, assessment frequency, and capital investment priorities.
Provide enterprise governance and centralized oversight of the Physical Access Control System (PACS), including credential standards, access-level matrices, approval workflows, and lifecycle governance.
Coordinate same-day access deactivation with Human Resources for employee separations and monitor for post-deactivation credential activity.
Establish and oversee access-anomaly monitoring and investigation processes, including failed access attempts, out-of-scope access, and after-hours activity in restricted areas.
Provide enterprise governance and centralized oversight of the camera and video surveillance program, including system standards, coverage requirements, retention policies, and system health monitoring.
Oversee documented video-export handling and chain-of-custody procedures for investigative use.
Manage security vendors, including vetting, contracting, performance review, and financial oversight.
Serve as the enterprise conduit for contracted security services, including site security, event security, and executive protection engagements.
Conduct documented risk assessments for contracted security deployments, define their scope, and ensure fiduciary discipline.
Maintain working knowledge of executive protection methodologies, certifications, and best practices to evaluate provider qualifications, readiness, and performance.
Build and maintain relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies across priority facility locations.
Coordinate facility registration, walkthroughs, and pre-incident planning with law enforcement for priority sites.
Monitor relevant threat-intelligence sources and translate applicable information into actionable security advisories and leadership briefings.
Support aviation and security compliance requirements, including Department of War Commercial Airlift Review Board security expectations.
Assist with preparation, documentation, and readiness for DOW CARB security surveys and related assessments.
Ensure physical security program elements support applicable regulatory and contractual obligations.
Serve as a supplementary Emergency Manager in emergency planning, preparedness, response, and recovery activities.
Participate in Emergency Operations Center activations as assigned, supporting incident management under the Incident Command System and/or the company Emergency Response Plan.
Assist with developing, executing, and documenting emergency exercises and drills, and preparing after-action reports.
Maintain regular scheduled attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
