About The Position

The Syracuse City School District is seeking dedicated and diverse educators to partner in moving the district toward its goals. The district represents 35 schools and programs, serving approximately 19,000 students Pre-K–12. Corcoran High School offers 120 different athletic teams for students in grades 7-12. The coaching staff consists of certified, dedicated people who enjoy working with student athletes. In grades 7-8, a comprehensive modified program emphasizes skill development, participation, discipline, enjoyment, competition, and the value of hard work. At the high school level (freshman, Junior Varsity, and Varsity teams), there is a higher refinement of skill, a higher level of competition, and a focus on the development of academics, goal setting, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship.

Requirements

  • New York State Coaching Certification
  • Valid First Aid course
  • Valid Adult CPR certification
  • Workshop - Child Abuse Identification
  • Workshop - School Violence Intervention and Prevention
  • Workshop - Dignity For All Students Act (DASA)
  • Fingerprint Clearance
  • School District Recommendation
  • Pass a fingerprint-based background check

  • Valid Concussion Management Certificate
  • Previous Coaching Experience

Responsibilities

  • Coach student athletes in bowling.
  • Develop skills, discipline, enjoyment, competition, and dedication in modified program athletes.
  • Refine skills and prepare high school teams for competition.
  • Stress the development of academics, goal setting, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship at the high school level.

Benefits

  • Salary per Unit 1 contract, prorated per length of season.
