About The Position

The Syracuse City School District is seeking dedicated and diverse educators to partner in moving the district toward its goals. Nottingham High School is looking for Unified Bowling Coaches (Head/Assistant) to join their coaching staff, which consists of certified, dedicated people who enjoy working with student athletes. The district offers 120 different athletic teams for students in grades 7-12. The modified program (grades 7-8) emphasizes skill development, participation, discipline, enjoyment, competition, and hard work, with winning not being the primary focus. The high school level (freshman, Junior Varsity, and Varsity teams) requires a higher refinement of skill and a greater comprehension of competition, with an emphasis on academics, goal setting, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship.

Requirements

  • New York State Coaching Certification
  • Valid First Aid course
  • Valid Adult CPR certification
  • Workshop - Child Abuse Identification
  • Workshop - School Violence Intervention and Prevention
  • Workshop - Dignity For All Students Act (DASA)
  • Fingerprint Clearance
  • School District Recommendation
  • Pass a fingerprint-based background check

  • Valid Concussion Management Certificate
  • Previous Coaching Experience

Responsibilities

  • Coach student athletes in grades 7-12 for the Nottingham High School bowling teams.
  • Develop skills, discipline, and sportsmanship in student athletes.
  • Prepare student athletes for higher levels of competition.
  • Emphasize academics, goal setting, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship at the high school level.
