About The Position
The Syracuse City School District is seeking dedicated and diverse educators to partner in moving the district toward its goals. Nottingham High School is looking for Bowling Coaches (Varsity/Unified - Head/Assistant) to join their coaching staff, which consists of certified, dedicated people who enjoy working with student athletes. The district offers 120 different athletic teams for students in grades 7-12. The modified program (grades 7-8) emphasizes discipline, enjoyment, competition, and hard work, preparing students for higher-level high school competition. High school teams (freshman, Junior Varsity, and Varsity) stress the development of academics, goal setting, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship, while striving for success and efficient team and individual effort.
Requirements
- New York State Coaching Certification
- Valid First Aid course
- Valid Adult CPR certification
- Workshop - Child Abuse Identification
- Workshop - School Violence Intervention and Prevention
- Workshop - Dignity For All Students Act (DASA)
- Fingerprint Clearance
- School District Recommendation
- Pass a fingerprint-based background check

- Valid Concussion Management Certificate
- Previous Coaching Experience
Responsibilities
- Coach student athletes in bowling.
- Develop academics, goal setting, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship at the high school level.
- Prepare student athletes for higher levels of competition.
- Encourage maximum participation and enjoyment of play in the modified program.
- Foster discipline, competition, and the value of hard work.
