About The Position

The Coordinator is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team, and helping provide an excellent customer experience. The role engages with customers, maintains a clean and organized store, and models exceptional customer service. The Coordinator orchestrates truck deliveries and prioritizes processing merchandise to the sales floor; trains and mentors Associates; monitors team productivity and coaches as needed; and coordinates with management and the Coordinator on Duty to maintain an efficient flow of goods. The role also supports backroom organization, merchandising and signage standards, safety, recycling and hazardous-waste compliance, labor-law and policy adherence, shrink-reduction programs, and credit and loyalty programs. Other duties may be assigned. The position is at HomeGoods Store 1172 in Sandusky, Ohio. The starting pay range is $14.50–$15.00 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. The schedule must be flexible and may include nights and weekends.

Requirements

1 year of retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Create a positive internal and external customer experience.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck delivery and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks according to the store plan and reprioritize as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous-waste programs.
Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates and provide progress updates.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
