About The Position

As a member of the Cookie Crew at the Starkville store, you are the front-of-store point person for interacting with customers and help bake and serve Insomnia Cookies’ warm treats. The role combines baking, hospitality, order preparation, and customer service in a fast-paced bakery. Team members work together to create a welcoming guest experience and keep orders accurate and the bakery running smoothly.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to obtain any food safety certifications required for the location.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8 hours per shift.
• Ability to frequently reach, bend, stoop, twist, kneel, and lift.
• Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to use hands and fingers to handle bakery equipment, food products, and a point-of-sale system.
• Ability to work around varying temperatures, including ovens, freezers, and refrigeration units.
• Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment according to company procedures.
• Ability to read order screens, recipes, and safety information.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability during peak business hours, including evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and provide genuine, memorable hospitality.
• Prepare, bake, and package cookies, brownies, ice cream, and other treats to company quality standards.
• Accurately prepare in-store, pickup, delivery, and online orders.
• Operate the register and process guest transactions.
• Keep the bakery clean, stocked, organized, and food-safe throughout each shift.
• Assist teammates, restock supplies, and help keep service moving.
• Resolve guest concerns empathetically and promptly, partnering with the Shift Leader when needed.
• Create positive guest experiences that encourage repeat visits.
