About The Position
Streets of New York is seeking passionate and skilled Cooks to prepare food and help deliver a memorable dining experience at its casual pizza restaurant. Cooks prepare menu items according to restaurant recipes and quality standards, maintain stocked and organized workstations, and coordinate with kitchen staff to support timely service. The position involves working in a fast-paced environment and may require lifting 50-pound bags of flour and moving boxes containing meats, cheeses, vegetables, and other supplies. The listed location is 150 E Sheldon St, Prescott, AZ 86301. The role is offered as full-time or part-time.
Requirements
- Current Maricopa County Food Handler’s Certificate.
- Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of cooking techniques, methods, and equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for food.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items if necessary.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States; employment authorization will be submitted through E-Verify.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to Streets of New York recipes and quality standards.
- Set up and stock workstations with necessary supplies.
- Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and follow health and safety regulations.
- Assist with food inventory management and report shortages to the kitchen manager.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to support smooth operations and timely service.
- Maintain equipment and utensils, ensuring they are cleaned and properly stored.
- Follow sanitation and safety protocols.
- Assist with menu item development and special promotions as needed.
- Lift 50-pound bags of flour and move boxes of varying sizes and weights containing meats, cheeses, vegetables, and other items as necessary.
