About The Position

Streets of New York is seeking passionate and skilled Cooks to prepare food and help deliver a memorable dining experience. Cooks prepare menu items according to the restaurant’s recipes and quality standards, keep workstations stocked and organized, and work with kitchen staff to provide timely service. The role involves maintaining equipment and utensils, following health, safety, and sanitation protocols, assisting with inventory, and supporting menu development and special promotions as needed. Some heavy lifting is required, including lifting 50-pound flour bags and moving boxes of varying sizes and weights containing meats, cheeses, vegetables, and other items.

Requirements

• Current Maricopa County Food Handler’s Certificate.
• Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of cooking techniques, methods, and equipment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for food.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items if necessary.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; employment authorization will be submitted through E-Verify.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to Streets of New York recipes and quality standards.
• Set up and stock workstations with necessary supplies.
• Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation while adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Assist with food inventory management and report shortages to the kitchen manager.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to support smooth operations and timely service.
• Clean, maintain, and properly store equipment and utensils.
• Follow sanitation and safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
• Assist with menu item development and special promotions as needed.
• Lift 50-pound bags of flour and move boxes of varying sizes and weights, including boxes containing meats, cheeses, and vegetables.
