About The Position

The Cook prepares food items precisely and in a timely manner according to established hotel standards. The role represents the hotel to guests, assists with guest needs, and completes daily duties and assigned projects in accordance with Hulsing Hotels’ principles, policies, and standards. The position is full-time at DoubleTree By Hilton Lawrence in Lawrence, Kansas, with a stated hourly pay range of $14.00–$16.00. Morning and weekend availability is required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least one year of previous experience in a kitchen environment.
Team-oriented, empathetic, and friendly, with initiative.
Able to represent the hotel professionally to hotel guests.
Morning and weekend availability.
Working knowledge of kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, broilers, fryers, steam tables, mixers, knives, and slicers.

Responsibilities

Perform cooking methods and portion control according to hotel specifications.
Use kitchen equipment properly and safely, including ovens, grills, broilers, fryers, steam tables, mixers, knives, and slicers.
Keep the food line stocked with required items and replenish items as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of cooking equipment during the assigned shift.
Complete cleaning duties assigned by the supervisor during the shift.
Notify the supervisor of potential safety hazards and customer complaints.
Handle and store food properly.
Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance, protect company assets, and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
Represent the hotel professionally to guests and assist with guest needs.
Complete other duties and assigned projects as directed.
