About The Position

The Cook prepares menu items according to established standards and recipes, ensuring food is high quality, attractively presented, and served in a timely manner. The role follows health protocols, including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and safe food temperatures. The Cook gets to know residents and their preferences and needs and participates in resident orientations. The position is part-time at Vitalia Solon in Solon, Ohio, with shifts on Mondays and Sundays from 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Pay is $18 to $25.50 per hour.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English with residents.
Current Food Handlers Card as specified by the Department of Health.
Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and competency in leadership, training, and supervision.
Proficient written and oral communication skills with management, professional, and support staff.
Must be criminally cleared.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout the day.
Ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
Comfort working in close contact with extreme temperatures, including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers.
Ability to work primarily indoors and be available to work outside for events.
