About The Position

The Cook prepares menu items according to established standards and recipes, providing high-quality food that is attractively presented and served on time. The role follows health and food-safety protocols, including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and maintaining appropriate food temperatures. The Cook becomes familiar with residents and their preferences and needs and participates in resident orientations. The position is based at Vitalia Solon in Solon, Ohio, and is scheduled Mondays and Sundays from 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Able to read, write, understand, and communicate in English with residents.
Must possess a current Food Handlers Card as specified by the Department of Health.
Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and competency in leadership, training, and supervision.
Proficient written and oral communication skills with management, professional, and support staff.
Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout the day.
Able to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
Comfortable working in close contact with extreme temperatures, including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers.
Able to work primarily indoors and also be available to work outside for events.
Must be criminally cleared.
