About The Position

The Memory Care Homemaker creates an inviting, comfortable, homelike, and tidy atmosphere in memory care apartments and common areas. The role supports family-style dining by preparing and serving meals, encouraging residents to help set tables and clean up, and guiding residents to snacks and hydration three times a day. The homemaker also engages residents and helps provide meaningful experiences in the neighborhood. This is a part-time position at Rushwood in Wichita, Kansas. The schedule is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The stated pay range is $18 per hour.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Professional appearance and conduct.
Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English at a minimum of 8th-grade proficiency.
Positive and energetic attitude and enthusiasm for working with residents.
Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout the day.
Ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
Must be criminally cleared.

Responsibilities

Create an inviting, comfortable, homelike, and tidy atmosphere in memory care apartments and common areas.
Be present in the dining room to prepare and serve family-style dining.
Encourage residents to participate in setting tables and cleaning up after meals.
Guide residents to snacks and hydration three times a day.
Engage residents and provide meaningful experiences in the neighborhood.
Assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking, including assisting persons after a fall.
