About The Position

Bobby Dodd Institute is seeking a janitorial team member to perform cleaning tasks that meet custodial contract specifications. The position works under the supervision of the Custodial Supervisor and is part of a federal AbilityOne contract, which requires most work hours to be carried out by individuals with disabilities. This specific position must be filled by a person with a disability. The employee must successfully complete a criminal history background check and be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

The role is based at FAA Hampton and is scheduled from 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Physical requirements include standing for most of the work time, walking a significant portion, sitting, lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds, and pushing and pulling up to 35 pounds. The employee must also be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and handle. Reasonable accommodations for physical requirements will be considered.

Requirements

• This position must be filled by a person with a disability due to program requirements.
• Successfully complete a criminal history information background check.
• Be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
• Be able to stand for most of the work time, walk a significant portion, and sit.
• Be able to lift and carry 35 pounds and push and pull 35 pounds.
• Be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and handle.
• Be able to communicate with supervisors and co-workers.
• Have three to six months of janitorial training or experience, or be capable of learning to perform the essential functions.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and mop hallways, stairs, and offices.
• Empty wastebaskets and dispose of trash in the prescribed manner.
• Dust horizontal surfaces.
• Clean bathrooms.
• Clean glass and windows.
• Wash walls and other vertical surfaces.
• Vacuum rugs.
• Mix cleaning solutions.
• Maintain issued equipment.
• Notify the supervisor when supplies or equipment are needed.
• Cooperate with team members.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Custodial Supervisor.
