About The Position
Arrow Senior Living is hiring a full-time Cook at Vitalia Strongsville in Strongsville, Ohio. The role works Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with pay of $18 to $25.50 per hour. The Cook prepares menu items according to established standards and recipes, ensuring food is high quality, attractively presented, and served on time. The role follows health protocols, including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and safe food temperatures. The Cook gets to know residents and their preferences and needs and participates in resident orientations. The position primarily works indoors, with availability to work outdoors for events.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English with residents.
- Current Food Handlers Card as specified by the Department of Health.
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and competency in leadership, training, and supervision.
- Proficient written and oral communication skills with management, professional, and support staff.
- Must be criminally cleared.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout the day.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
- Comfort working in close contact with extreme temperatures, including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers.
Responsibilities
- Prepare menu items according to established standards and recipes.

- Follow health protocols, including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and proper food temperatures.
- Become familiar with residents and their preferences and needs.
- Participate in resident orientations.
- Work primarily indoors and be available to work outdoors for events.
