About The Position

The Cook prepares food for service at Maravilla Santa Barbara. The role includes preparing ingredients, cooking menu items according to recipes, presenting and checking food quality, maintaining a clean and sanitary workstation, and handling food storage and inventory. The schedule is 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., five shifts per week, with full-time availability and holidays included. Pay is $22–$25 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

• Proven cooking experience, such as line cook or prep cook experience.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations; ServeSafe certification is cited as an example.
• Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness.
• Organization and ability to keep up with high-volume, high-pressure demands.
• Full-time availability, including holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in senior living communities, hotels, or catering.
• English and Spanish language skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean, cut, measure, and mix ingredients; prepare food for service.
• Operate grills, fryers, ovens, and other equipment to prepare food according to recipes.
• Plate and garnish food, ensuring it is properly presented and served at the correct temperature.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized workstation in compliance with health regulations.
• Store food at appropriate temperatures, label items, and check stock levels.
