About The Position

The Maintenance Assistant maintains day-to-day operations and the physical assets of the property under the direction of the Maintenance Director. The role supports a 363-apartment, 20-acre senior living campus and its common areas, with room for advancement. The routine schedule is Tuesday through Saturday: Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and the other scheduled days from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The position pays $23.25–$23.50 per hour.

Requirements

High school graduate.
Up to one year of related experience or training.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small-group situations to customers, clients, and employees.
Ability to use common-sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
Meet requirements of local and state regulating bodies.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience as a hotel or apartment complex maintenance worker.
Previous experience as a hotel maintenance worker or property management maintenance worker.
Ability to work well with minimal supervision as an excellent team player.
Ability to provide quality maintenance work in a timely manner.
Strong hospitality skills, since much of the maintenance work takes place in residents' apartments.
Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Complete assigned work order requests.
Perform routine maintenance throughout the property, including its apartments and common areas.
Complete the make-ready process for vacant apartments as directed by the Maintenance Director.
Work within established expense limits.
Maintain inventory controls to support cost-effective operations.
Schedule and complete the Preventative Maintenance Program.
Provide 24-hour emergency maintenance service as scheduled.
Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
