About The Position
Streets of New York is seeking a passionate and skilled Cook to prepare food and help create memorable dining experiences at its Glendale pizza and Italian restaurant. The Cook prepares menu items according to company recipes and quality standards, maintains a clean and safe workstation, and works collaboratively with kitchen staff to support smooth operations and timely service. The role requires standing for extended periods and handling heavy items, including 50-pound bags of flour and boxes of food supplies. The position is listed as full-time or part-time and pays $17–$20 per hour, depending on experience.
Requirements
- Current Maricopa County Food Handler’s Certificate.
- Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of cooking techniques, methods, and equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for food.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items, including 50-pound bags of flour and boxes of varying sizes and weights.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States; employment authorization will be submitted through E-Verify.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to Streets of New York recipes and quality standards.
- Set up and stock workstations with necessary supplies.
- Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation while following health and safety regulations.
- Assist with food inventory management and report shortages to the kitchen manager.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to support smooth operations and timely service.
- Clean, maintain, and properly store equipment and utensils.
- Follow sanitation and safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
- Assist with menu item development and special promotions as needed.
