About The Position

The Content Strategist, Amazon & Marketplace owns product content for commerce clients on Amazon. The role plans and prioritizes content work, researches and writes optimized product listings, publishes content through Seller Central and Vendor Central, and reports on its impact on search rank, traffic, and conversion. It is a hands-on position working within established processes and tools alongside account managers, ad managers, an offshore publishing team, and clients. The goal is to improve product discoverability and conversion while setting accurate shopper expectations to reduce returns and negative reviews. The position begins with a three-month contract, with potential for extension. The strategist conducts content gap analyses, develops content calendars, researches products, brands, competitors, shoppers, keywords, and reviews, and writes and edits listing content for accuracy, brand voice, SEO, readability, and Amazon compliance. The role also oversees peer quality assurance and client review, prepares and troubleshoots flat-file uploads, follows cases through publication, and measures and presents post-publication results.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of hands-on Amazon content and SEO experience at an agency, brand, or marketplace service provider.
  • Working fluency with Seller Central and Vendor Central, including flat files, browse nodes, ATS title formatting, processing errors, and case management.
  • Experience with Helium 10 (Cerebro, Scribbles, and Frankenstein), Pacvue Commerce, and Amazon Brand Analytics.
  • Strong copywriting skills that balance keyword coverage with readability, and a strong editorial eye for identifying AI-generated copy that sounds plausible but is inaccurate or unsuitable.
  • Comfort with Google Sheets, including VLOOKUP, LEN, and conditional formatting, and with Asana.
  • Confidence presenting to clients and explaining content prioritization and results, including the effects or limitations of ad spend, stock-outs, pricing, and seasonality.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with retail analytics platforms for rank and market-share reporting.
  • AEO/GEO experience.
  • Experience with A+ Content, Premium A+, and Brand Stores.
  • Content experience on Walmart or Target marketplaces.
  • Experience in CPG, beauty, pet, or health categories.

Responsibilities

  • Join internal and client onboarding calls to understand priorities, scope, Brand Registry status, and the client's in-house content resources.
  • Run Content Gap Analyses using Pacvue Commerce exports to identify missing or weak titles, bullets, descriptions, images, and A+ Content across hero and secondary ASINs.
  • Build and present a Content Calendar prioritizing work according to revenue, ad focus, promotions, launches, and seasonality, and maintain it through QBRs.
  • Research products, brands, competitors, shopper profiles, Brand Analytics demographics, and Amazon policies for compliance-heavy categories.
  • Analyze client and competitor customer reviews to identify what shoppers value and complain about.
  • Conduct keyword research in Helium 10 and write titles, bullets, descriptions, and backend search terms using Monks' AI listing tools.
  • Edit AI-generated content for accuracy, brand voice, SEO, readability, and Amazon compliance, avoiding unsupported claims.
  • Peer-QA colleagues' work, manage two rounds of client revisions, and support recommendations with search-volume data when client edits conflict with best practices.
  • Share approved keyword research with the ad manager so paid and organic work use the same keyword set.
  • Prepare and submit flat-file uploads in Seller Central and Vendor Central, using partial updates and verifying list price and cost on every Vendor Central upload.
  • Troubleshoot rejected or stalled content by reviewing processing summaries, correcting errors, and opening and following up on Seller Central, Vendor Central, and Brand Registry cases until content goes live.
  • Capture before-and-after product detail page screenshots and report impact 60 days after publication, including keyword placements, organic rank, glance views or sessions, and conversion rate.
  • Build the content section of QBRs and, for larger clients, create content evaluation and opportunity decks with category market share and competitor benchmarks.
  • Join sales calls when asked to discuss the company's content approach.
