Consumer Lending Sales Associate
About The Position
The Consumer Lending Sales Associate provides customer service and sales support at an assigned Mariner Finance branch. The role presents loan solutions tailored to customer needs, processes loan applications, reviews credit and financial information, and works with customers to address past-due balances. It also supports branch sales goals, ensures compliance with applicable consumer laws, and handles payments and daily deposits. The employee must work at the assigned branch location, except in a company-determined emergency. The position is based at a branch and requires physical presence in the office. Scheduled hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM; and Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Saturday work is required seasonally and as business needs require. The company may change schedules to address business needs, and hours depend on the business hours of the time zone served. The role is eligible for a competitive monthly incentive based on individual and company performance, in addition to the stated hourly base salary range. Requirements
- At least two years of experience in a customer service or sales position.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable transportation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar programs, and ability to learn financial services programs.
- Ability to complete essential duties and functions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and interpersonal skills in demanding situations.
- Must obtain applicable required licenses to sell insurance products offered to customers by the branch.
- Must perform work-related tasks at the assigned branch location, except in a company-determined emergency.
Nice To Haves
- Cash handling, selling, and/or collecting experience.
- Some college coursework.
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English.
- One year as an Account Representative I for Mariner Finance, LLC or an affiliate or subsidiary, or one year of experience in the consumer lending and/or financial services industry, with consistently demonstrated achievement of assigned KPIs.
- Applicable required licenses to sell insurance products offered by the branch, held in good standing.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service by proactively resolving problems, presenting loan solutions based on customer needs, and presenting available sales products.
- Process credit loan applications and analyze credit and financial information for current and potential customers.
- Contact customers with past-due balances to offer possible solutions and resolve delinquency.
- Meet or exceed individual and branch goals for sales of company products and services.
- Learn and follow applicable federal, state, and local consumer application laws.
- Maintain a cash drawer, process payments, and deliver daily deposits to specified financial institutions as required.
- Perform additional functions as needed based on market demand and branch staffing to provide consistent customer service.
