About The Position

Mariner Finance is hiring a Consumer Lending Sales Associate to provide customer service and support lending and sales activities at an assigned branch. The role processes loan applications, reviews customer credit and financial information, presents loan solutions and other available products, and works with past-due customers to address delinquency. The associate is also responsible for achieving individual and branch goals, maintaining a cash drawer, processing payments, and making deposits as required. The position requires physical presence at the branch and may include additional duties based on market demand and staffing.

The posted base salary range is USD $18.00–$19.16 per hour. The role is eligible for a monthly incentive based on individual and company performance. The schedule is generally Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM; and Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Saturday work is required seasonally and as business needs require. Schedules may change to address business needs, and hours depend on the business hours of the time zone serviced.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience in a customer service or sales position.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable transportation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar programs, and ability to learn financial services programs.
• Ability to complete essential duties and functions in a timely and accurate manner.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and interpersonal skills in demanding situations.
• Must obtain applicable licenses required to sell insurance products offered to customers by the branch.
• Must perform work-related tasks at the assigned branch location, except in an emergency as determined by the company in consultation, as necessary, with applicable regulatory agencies.

Nice To Haves

• Cash handling, selling, and/or collections experience.
• Some college coursework.
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by proactively solving problems, presenting loan solutions based on customer needs, and enthusiastically presenting available sales products.
• Process credit loan applications.
• Analyze credit and financial information for current and potential customers.
• Proactively contact customers with past-due balances to offer possible solutions and resolve delinquency.
• Meet or exceed individual and branch goals related to the sale of company products and services.
• Learn and follow applicable federal, state, and local consumer application laws.
• Maintain a cash drawer, process payments, and deliver daily deposits to specified financial institutions as required.
• Perform additional functions as needed based on market demand and branch staffing to provide consistent customer service.
