Consumer Lending Sales Associate
About The Position
Mariner Finance is hiring a Consumer Lending Sales Associate to provide customer service and support lending and sales activity at an assigned branch. The role processes loan applications, reviews customer credit and financial information, presents loan solutions and other sales products, and contacts customers with past-due balances to discuss possible solutions. The associate works toward individual and branch goals, follows applicable consumer lending laws, and handles payments, a cash drawer, and daily deposits. Additional duties may be assigned based on market demand and branch staffing. The position is physically based at the assigned branch. Scheduled hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday work is required seasonally and as business needs require. The company may change schedules to address business needs. Compensation is $18.00–$23.58 per hour, with eligibility for a monthly incentive based on individual and company performance.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience in a customer service or sales position.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable transportation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar programs and ability to learn financial services programs.
- Ability to complete essential duties and functions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and interpersonal skills in demanding situations.
- Must obtain applicable required licenses to sell insurance products offered to customers by the branch.
- Must perform work-related tasks at the assigned branch location, except in an emergency as determined by the company.
Nice To Haves
- Cash handling, selling, and/or collecting experience.
- Some college coursework.
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service by proactively solving problems, presenting loan solutions based on customer needs, and enthusiastically presenting available sales products.
- Process credit loan applications and analyze credit and financial information for current and potential customers.
- Contact customers with past-due balances to offer possible solutions and resolve delinquency.
- Meet or exceed individual and branch goals related to sales of company products and services.
- Learn and comply with applicable federal, state, and local consumer application laws.
- Maintain a cash drawer, process payments, and deliver daily deposits to specified financial institutions as required.
- Perform additional functions as needed based on market demand and branch staffing to provide consistent customer service.
