About The Position

Mariner Finance is hiring a Consumer Lending Associate to provide customer service and support lending and sales activities at an assigned branch. The role processes consumer loan applications, reviews credit and financial information, presents loan options and other available products, and contacts customers with past-due balances to discuss possible solutions. The associate also handles customer payments and cash drawer activities, makes daily deposits as required, and works toward individual and branch goals while following applicable consumer laws.

The employee must work at the assigned branch and be physically present in the office. The posted schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM; and Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Saturday work may be required seasonally and as business needs require. The company may change the schedule to address business needs. The role pays a base salary of $18.00–$21.00 per hour and is eligible for a monthly incentive based on individual and company performance. Requirements

• At least one year of experience in a customer service or sales position.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable transportation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar programs, with the ability to learn financial services programs.
• Ability to complete essential duties and functions in a timely and accurate manner.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and interpersonal skills in demanding situations.
• Obtain applicable required licenses to sell insurance products offered to customers by the branch.
• Perform work-related tasks at the assigned branch location except in an emergency as determined by the company, in consultation with applicable regulatory agencies as necessary.

Nice To Haves

• Cash handling, selling, and/or collecting experience.
• Some college coursework.
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by proactively solving problems, presenting loan solutions based on customer needs, and enthusiastically presenting available sales products.
• Process credit loan applications.
• Analyze credit and financial information for current and potential customers.
• Contact customers with past-due balances to offer possible solutions and resolve delinquency.
• Meet or exceed individual and branch goals for sales of company products and services.
• Learn and comply with applicable federal, state, and local consumer application laws.
• Maintain a cash drawer, process payments, and deliver daily deposits to specified financial institutions as required.
• Perform additional functions as needed based on market demand and branch staffing to provide consistent customer service.
