About The Position

The Peninsula Chicago is seeking a guest-focused Conference Services Manager to work with its Food & Beverage team at a luxury Five-Star, Five-Diamond property on Michigan Avenue in Chicago. The role serves as the liaison between clients and the hotel, coordinating group and event requirements across hotel rooms, catering, audio visual, transportation, and off-site recommendations. The manager works with sales managers and hotel departments to carry out client needs and helps provide a continuous on-site presence for clients.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of leadership experience in a luxury hotel.
• Excellent written skills, including report writing.
• Above-average oral presentation skills.
• Strong understanding and knowledge of food and beverage.
• Must have work authorization in the United States.

• A degree in Hospitality Management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with sales managers responsible for booking group business and with hotel staff involved in meeting group and guest needs.
• Act as the liaison between clients and the hotel for needs such as guest rooms, catering and events, audio visual, transportation, and off-site event recommendations.
• Maintain knowledge of hotel facilities and meeting-room capacities and dimensions.
• Maintain the policies set forth in group sales contracts, including deposits, cut-off dates, attrition, rooming lists, and billing instructions.
• Develop creative menu presentations for potential clients.
• Attend and participate in the weekly resume meeting.
• Conduct property tours for meeting planners and potential clients.
• Coordinate with banquet captains and the conference concierge to ensure a continuous presence for on-site clients.
