About The Position

The Community Relations Representative builds relationships with dentists, community organizations, and local influencers to generate referrals to orthodontic offices. The role partners with clinic teams and the Regional Manager of Sales and Marketing to increase referrals and new patient exams, support practice growth, and deliver local marketing initiatives. Responsibilities include managing local marketing budgets and campaigns, hosting and attending community events, supporting clinic promotions, monitoring local competition, maintaining referral and engagement records in the CRM, tracking performance, and providing clinics with branded materials and merchandise.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• For external candidates: one year of experience in business-to-business sales, direct-to-consumer sales, field marketing, or a related field, emphasizing relationship-building and referral generation management.
• For internal candidates: six months with Smile Doctors or an affiliated practice.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications.
• Intermediate knowledge of sales or business management software.
• Solid written and oral communication skills.
• Solid problem-solving skills.
• Solid organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with local dentists, dental offices, healthcare professionals, schools, churches, government agencies, and community businesses to develop referral networks.
• Collaborate with clinic teams to increase referrals and new patient exams, primarily through dental referrals, and support practice growth.
• Partner with the Regional Manager of Sales and Marketing to create and implement local marketing strategies, including social media campaigns.
• Develop, manage, and track local marketing budgets for each team or location and hold teams accountable for monthly spending.
• Host joint events and co-marketing initiatives with local organizations to increase visibility and referrals.
• Participate in community events, health fairs, school programs, and local initiatives to build awareness and connections.
• Support clinics with grand openings, special events, and other promotional activities.
• Manage local marketing campaigns focused on referral growth, track their effectiveness, and make data-driven adjustments.
• Monitor local competitive trends, particularly in dentistry and community outreach.
• Maintain accurate CRM records of referral activity, community engagement, and event participation.
• Track and report individual performance metrics, including referrals and new patient exams.
• Assist clinics with marketing materials and promotional needs, including branded items and advertising.
• Distribute branded merchandise and manage inventory for community and professional events.
