Communications Operations Manager

UCSFSan Francisco, CA
$105,400 - $225,400

About The Position

The Communications Operations Manager plays a critical role in how UCSF Health Communications gets work done. The role has two primary areas of responsibility: driving the operational execution of communications projects and campaigns across the function and managing the day-to-day operation and continued development of The Bridge, UCSF Health’s employee communications platform. Great communications work depends on more than a good strategy or a strong idea — it depends on the hundreds of details that bring it to life. The Communications Operations Manager creates a structure that allows the team to execute at a high level, translating complex and fast-moving work into clear plans, owners, timelines and decision points. They manage intake and production workflows, coordinate work across teams and channels, anticipate what could get in the way, and make sure decisions turn into action. They help create an operation where people know what is happening, what they own and what comes next. The same discipline applies to The Bridge. The Communications Operations Manager helps ensure the platform remains useful, current and trusted while continuing to grow with the organization. They work directly in the platform to publish and maintain content, keep critical information current, onboard and support contributors, manage moderation and reporting, and project manage new capabilities and phases of development. This role is for someone who notices the details because they understand why the details matter. The right person understands how communications teams work, brings exceptional project management and organizational skills, and takes satisfaction in making complicated things run well. They create structure without rigidity, stay steady when plans change, anticipate problems before they become problems, and follow through. They care as much about the quality of the execution as the quality of the idea.
