About The Position

Nordstrom is hiring seasonal and regular commission sales employees at Oak Park Mall. This professional sales role focuses on delivering excellent customer service, building customer relationships, meeting personal sales goals, and creating a welcoming shopping experience. Depending on the department, employees provide fashion and product expertise in women's apparel, shoes, men's apparel, kids' apparel and shoes, or jewelry, handbags, accessories, and luggage. They help customers select products, offer styling and fit guidance, and follow up to build long-term loyalty. Employees use in-store interactions, outreach, digital selling tools, Nordy Club enrollment, and the Personal Book to develop a personal customer base and support repeat business. Employees deliver Nordstrom's 5-Point Selling Standard: Say Hello, Small Talk, Be Helpful & Sell, Fashion Authority, and Follow-up. They maintain product knowledge and a customer-ready department while contributing to an inclusive, productive team environment. Schedules vary by week according to business needs and may include evenings, weekends, holidays, event shifts, peak periods, and occasional support for other departments. The listed pay range is $13.50 per hour. Commission for apparel, shoes, and accessories sales typically ranges from 3% to 14.5%; Beauty and Men's Fragrance sales roles typically receive 3% commission. The position may also be eligible for performance-based incentives or bonuses. Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, including reaching and lifting items above the head.
Ability to regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.

Build and grow a personal customer base through in-store interactions, outreach, and digital tools.
Provide honest, confident style and fit feedback to earn customer trust and loyalty.
Set and achieve personal sales goals and remain accountable for results.
Keep the department customer-ready by stocking, re-merchandising, completing price markdowns and merchandise recovery, and participating in the bi-annual inventory count.
Stay current on product knowledge and trends to serve as a trusted style resource.
Communicate openly, contribute to a positive team environment, and help keep the department productive.
Follow up with customers using the 2-2-2 Method, Nordy Club enrollment, and Personal Book.
Provide department-specific product expertise and assistance, such as styling, sizing, fit, product selection, and recommendations.
Work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and peak periods, and occasionally support other departments.
