In your role as Collections Clerk, you will provide clerical and administrative support for the Collections Department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or higher
  • One or more years of clerical or administrative experience
  • Discretion, confidentiality, diplomacy, and tact come naturally to you and you are comfortable handling highly sensitive information.

Nice To Haves

  • One or more years of financial institution experience
  • One or more years of collections experience

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and send files to legal and collection agency.
  • Process invoices for legal fees and collection agency payments.
  • Apply and manage GAP & Warranty refunds.
  • Obtain status on pending insurance and protection claims and administer paperwork to recover deficient gaps.
  • Prepare repossession paperwork and files and all subsequent documents for repossession agent.
  • Process REPO title paperwork and file REPO titles @ tag agency “unless” they are Tribal titles or out of state titles.
  • Prepare skip files for skip claim vendor partner.
  • Skip trace for legal attorney when needed/requested.
  • Post-sale proceeds, GAP and warranty refunds, collection agency, legal and bankruptcy trustee checks in a timely manner.
  • Maintain all files and records so they are current within a timely manner.
  • Review and accurately process bankruptcy filings, motions, and notifications within designated deadlines.
  • Notate collection system on actions taken and/or updates.
  • Assist in maintaining departmental reports.
  • File loan paperwork as necessary.
  • Process collection letters, return and departmental mail.
  • Commitment to Credit Unions' needs and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Comply with all security guidelines related to physical and information security.
  • Comply with the requirements of all credit union policies and procedures including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money laundering regulations as related to the position.
  • Deliver service to both internal and external members that are in alignment with the Credit Union’s Service Standards and meet all established goals.
