Cold Food (Salad) (Full Time)
About The Position
Morrison Healthcare is hiring a full-time Cold Food (Salad) team member at MUSC Columbia Downtown in Columbia, South Carolina. The position prepares and serves sandwiches, salads, and other cold food items, including slicing deli meats, vegetables, and cheeses. The role follows production, quality, portion-control, food-safety, sanitation, and service standards. The listed schedule is 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on days that may vary, with rotating weekends. The fixed pay rate is $17.50 per hour. Previous cooking experience is preferred. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until openings are filled.
Requirements
- Previous cooking experience is preferred.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Obtain daily production schedules and preparation requirements from the Chef.
- Prepare sandwich meats, cheeses, condiments, and salads to approved production standards for quality, serving temperatures, and portion control.
- Stock and replenish deli and cold food products and condiments according to merchandising guidelines.
- Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from the workstation, stove, and refrigerator.
- Store food in designated areas using HACCP wrapping, dating, and rotation procedures.
- Clean, sanitize, and maintain counters, work surfaces, refrigeration units, and floors in preparation and serving areas.
- Cut meat, cheese, and vegetables to designated thickness using cutting boards, knives, or a slicing machine.
- Set up and operate the slicing machine to slice meats and cheeses to the desired thickness.
- Interact with coworkers to support compliance with service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with sanitation, ServSafe, and safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
