About The Position

The Coffee Shop Barista provides friendly customer service while preparing beverages, maintaining coffee shop products and work areas, and helping ensure customers have a positive experience. The position involves working in a fast-paced store coffee shop, handling customer orders and payments, maintaining product freshness, and supporting teammates and other store areas as needed. Training and support are provided; prior experience is not required.

Requirements

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Basic math skills for simple addition, subtraction, counting, and recording.
Clear, friendly communication with customers and teammates.
Ability to stay organized and keep pace in a busy coffee shop environment.
Less than a high school diploma or equivalent is accepted.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

Up to six months of similar or related work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly, learn their names, and provide helpful service to make each visit positive.
Take customer orders at the counter and over the phone, assist customers with finding products, and answer questions.
Prepare and replenish coffee shop products as needed.
Monitor product freshness and appearance, and follow or develop a production list to meet daily needs.
Handle food safely and keep the work area clean, neat, and up to department standards.
Check in products, put them away, and review invoices as needed.
Operate the department register and process payments where applicable.
Remove trash promptly and maintain a tidy department.
Work with teammates to provide a smooth, positive customer experience.
Follow the company dress code, hygiene standards, and policies.
Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed.
