About The Position

The Coffee Shop Assistant Manager supports daily coffee shop operations, helping ensure excellent customer service, quality beverages and food, and effective team performance. The role assists the Coffee Shop Manager, leads baristas during assigned shifts, maintains operational standards, and helps provide a welcoming, efficient environment. The position is also cross-trained to support convenience store operations and other store functions as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to supervise and motivate a small team of baristas during shifts.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math and computer skills for POS operations and shift-level reporting in coffee shop and convenience store settings.
• Professional, positive attitude and ability to maintain composure under pressure.
• Willingness and ability to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts.
• Must have a phone and reliable transportation.
• Must be able to communicate in English, if applicable.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and perform the physical activities described in the posting.
• Physical attendance at the primary work location is required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a coffee shop or food service.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shift operations, including opening and closing procedures as assigned.
• Supervise baristas during assigned shifts by providing guidance, support, and coaching.
• Assist with training new staff and reinforcing company policies and procedures.
• Monitor inventory during shifts and report low stock or equipment issues to management.
• Ensure beverages and food items meet company quality standards.
• Address and resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
• Maintain cleanliness and operational standards during shifts.
• Support cash handling and end-of-shift reconciliation.
• Maintain clear communication with the Coffee Shop Manager and team members.
• Follow company safety procedures to maintain a safe environment for team members and customers.
• Provide friendly and competent customer service.
• Assist with convenience store operations, including operating the POS, assisting customers, stocking shelves, maintaining product displays, and keeping the store clean and organized.
• Report to work on time when scheduled.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
