About The Position

The Cocktail Server greets guests and provides prompt, accurate, and courteous service in a high-energy casino environment. The role involves taking and delivering drink orders, maintaining clean service areas, sharing product and promotion information with guests, and helping create a favorable gaming experience. Servers are expected to provide welcoming, efficient service, recommend and upsell products, and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor. The position requires frequent movement through a large, fast-paced casino and the ability to work effectively under time pressure and in an interruptive environment.

Requirements

At least six months to one year of beverage-service experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Ability to secure and maintain licensure required by the Virginia Gaming Control Board or another applicable regulatory entity, as required for assigned duties or Live operating standards.
Ability to speak, read, write, and understand basic instructions in English.
Ability to perform addition and subtraction.
Ability to make change from sales and reconcile and balance sales at the conclusion of a shift.
Ability to maneuver efficiently through the service area while carrying a tray with service items.
Ability to handle situations involving intoxication and stressful circumstances.
Ability to communicate effectively with all departments and other team members.
Ability to perform assigned duties in an interruptive environment under frequent time pressures.
Knowledge of sanitation and health department regulations for safe alcohol handling.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
Nightclub experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Know the casino facility and current and future casino promotions, and communicate these to guests.
Speak passionately with guests and help provide a favorable gaming experience through unique and spontaneous service.
Follow company policies and procedures regarding guest limitations.
Maintain knowledge of alcoholic beverages, liquors, wines, beers, ales, bar equipment, the Easy Bar System, ABC laws and regulations, and gaming laws.
Recommend and upsell products to guests.
Make change from sales and reconcile and balance sales at the end of the shift.
Maneuver through the service area while carrying a tray with service items.
