About The Position

The St. James Hotel is seeking a creative, friendly, and motivated Cocktail Mixologist/Bartender to provide warm, efficient, and professional service in The Port, the hotel’s cocktail lounge. The role includes serving food and beverages, assisting guests with information about the menu, hotel services, and local attractions, and helping create memorable guest experiences. The successful candidate will know or be willing to learn cocktail mixology, elevated wines, and high-end liquors. This part-time position is available Wednesday through Saturday evenings. The targeted pay range is $11.54–$15.07 per hour, depending on qualifications; the expanded salary range offers opportunities for advancement. Requirements

Two years of customer service and cash handling experience preferred.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
Eagerness to learn and maintain product knowledge through ongoing education.
Availability to work Wednesday through Saturday evenings.

Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

Greet guests, take orders, and serve food and beverages promptly while providing high-quality service.
Provide guests with information about food, drinks, hotel services, and local attractions.
Support cleanliness in the restaurant and bar areas.
Accurately manage transactions, handle cash responsibly, and reconcile financials at the end of the shift.
Coordinate with team members across departments to provide seamless service for guests and events.
Learn and maintain product knowledge, including cocktail mixology, elevated wines, and high-end liquors.
