About The Position
The Bar Sierra Bartender delivers exceptional guest experiences through hospitality, beverage preparation, and attentive service. The role serves as an ambassador of the restaurant and bar, creating a welcoming atmosphere and providing high-quality beverages and personalized service. Bartenders are expected to know the beverage offerings, maintain a clean and organized bar, and uphold standards of professionalism, safety, and guest satisfaction. The position contributes to memorable guest experiences, guest loyalty, and the overall success and reputation of Bar Sierra through beverage expertise and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Previous bartending experience is preferred in a restaurant, bar, hotel, or hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of mixology, wine, beer, and beverage service.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and guest service skills.
- Ability to multitask and perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must meet legal requirements for serving alcohol and maintain any required certifications.
- Flexible schedule, including the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and handling bar equipment and supplies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide an engaging, memorable bar experience.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Demonstrate knowledge of cocktails, wine, beer, and specialty beverages, and make recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Enter orders and process transactions accurately through the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and follow responsible alcohol service practices.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the bar area, equipment, and service stations.
- Restock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, and supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to support efficient operations and exceptional guest service.
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests promptly and professionally.
- Follow company, health department, and food safety standards.
- Assist with opening, closing, inventory, and side work duties as assigned.
