About The Position

The Cocktail Server serves patrons by providing information to help them make food and beverage selections, presenting their ordered choices, and maintaining the dining ambiance. The role prepares the rooftop for service, supports patrons throughout their dining experience, coordinates orders with the bar and kitchen, and processes payments.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of high-volume serving experience.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and cold.
• High energy level.
• Intermediate knowledge of liquor, beer, and wine.
• General math skills.
• Ability to sell to customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the rooftop for service by setting tables with condiments, napkins, service plates, and utensils.
• Follow sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies to protect the establishment and patrons.
• Help patrons select food and beverages by presenting menus; offering cocktails and aperitifs; suggesting courses; explaining chef’s specialties; identifying appropriate wines; and answering food preparation questions.
• Record patrons’ choices and transmit orders to the bar and kitchen, noting special dietary needs and requests.
• Keep kitchen staff informed about the timing of meal progression.
• Pick up and deliver patrons’ orders from the bar and kitchen, along with accompaniments and condiments from service bars.
• Respond to additional patron requirements by asking about their needs and observing the dining process.
• Maintain table settings by removing completed courses, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and responding to spills or other needs.
• Conclude the dining experience by acknowledging patrons’ choice of restaurant and inviting them to return.
• Total charges, issue bills, accept payment, deliver bills and payment to guests, and return change or credit cards and signature slips.
• Contribute to the team effort by completing related duties as needed.
